He said "the flights were created to help World War Two veterans see their memorial in Washington, at no cost to them."
The Great River Honor Flights is a volunteer organization. Their first flight is set for April 13 and will include three veterans from Macomb.
President Debbie Vandemark presided and introduced guests Red Nelson and Doc Horine who were here to find out about the Honor Flights.
Tim Moss, Jeremy Benson, Owen Thompson, Ted Pawlias and Waneen Stout are on the nominating committee for next years officers and directors. We should have the first reading of names by mid-April.

The 50/50 Drawing was won by John Moon and he donated his share to the Salvation Army.
Special thanks going out to Owen Thompson and Joe Vandemark who got our pancake grills ready and Joe chaperoned the grills for a police department pancake event at the Elks Club last Saturday.
Debbie reminded board members that there will be a board meeting next week. Lt. Gov. Nancy Clayton will also be here to update us on the Div. 19 Mid-Winter Conference.
Macomb High School student Lexa Mahr has been selected to attend the Hugh O'Brian Youth Leadership Seminar at the University of Illinois at Champaign this summer. Our club has been sponsoring a student for many years.
Debbie mentioned the Kiwanis "One Day of Service Project" is a day in April for hands on community service. Last year we did some yard work at the Salvation Army. In the past we've also helped out with a Macomb Park District project. She says we will be exploring options for an idea for this year.
