Roy Roth (pictured), and his wife Peggy, with the Macomb Community Theatre were introduced by September program chairman Susan Thompson.
Susan said that Roy would speak and Peggy would make sure he said everything right!
Roy said the group produces four shows each year, usually around March, May, September and November. This weekend and next the production is called "Fools" and Roy says "it's a Neil Simon play about a town in Russia that has been cursed with ignorance and stupidity." Performances are at 7:30 PM Friday and Saturday nights. Ticket prices are $10, $8 for senior citizens and $6 for students. All shows are performed at the Pat Crane Memorial Theatre on South Johnson Road, a little over a mile south of the Macomb Junior-Senior High School. Roy said "it's the best kept secret in Macomb!"
Shows for it's 50th anniversary next year are being planned and will include a retrospective of previous performances and one brand new show "The Wizard of Oz."
The theatre is a not-for-profit all volunteer group and welcomes members who have an interest in live theatre. If you're not into acting, there's still plenty to do including working behind the scenes, helping with costumes and scenery, lighting and sound.

Susan says next week Dr. Gary Sash with Family Chiropatric and Occupational Health Service will be our speaker. In two weeks, Joyce Fox will play the piano and sing for us!
President Jeremy Benson presided.
John Moon led us in singing "When Kiwanis Calls"
Owen Thompson gave the invocation
Jeremy - for Debbie filling in for him last week while he attended his sons first Cub Scout outing
Hassan Espahbodi - happy to be back and hopes to attend more often.
Pat Stout - for being absent last week while he was at the Monmouth Kiwanis Club's annual picnic and another in honor of our guest speakers.
Tim Moss - for Debbie filling in last week, another for passing around a program sign-up sheet for next year and another for hosting a team for the Macomb Alzheimer's Memory Walk Sepember 20. We're putting a team together and already have a couple of members signed up. If you would like to participate, just show up around 9:00 at the Citizen's National Bank park and register. Tim is collecting money for the club that we'll donate to the Alzheimer's Association. Tim also had a familiar looking t-shirt to auction off. It's the same one Owen successfully bid on last week and then donated back to the club to raise even more money. Bidding started at $1.00 and gradually increased to a winning $6.00 bid by Pat.
George Hermann - already has $100 raised for the Memory Walk.
Susan Thompson - their son has a friend who had a kidney transplant Monday and is doing well.
Owen - Sept. 22 we're having an Interclub going to Bloomington to
visit Walker Robb. Will leave from the Pizza Hut parking lot on East Jackson at 6:00 AM. He has three members signed up so far and more are welcome. Walker is actually chairing that meeting and it will be nice to see him again.
George Hermann won the 50/50 Drawing and donated his share to the Salvation Army.
