Tim Moss (on left) was installed as new club President by Division 19 Lt. Gov. Pat Stout (on right) at this weeks meeting.
Tim said, while he is still fairly new to the community, he would like to try to carry out the spirit of Kiwanis.
He encouraged members to be engaged in club activities and passed out some of his goals for the upcoming year. He would like the club to receive a distinguished club award and distinguished member awards. He said, "as we participate in the activities of Kiwanis, it should make it easier to bring in new members." Tim would like to see every member sign up for at least one committee during the year. He also had a questionaire about how members feel about various aspects of the club and some of its issues.

Two new members, Waneen Stout (on left) who is Pat Stout's wife and Jack Elfrink (far right) were also inducted at this weeks meeting. Shown next to Waneen is Jerry Carlson who was filling in as sponsor for Pat and Hassan Espahbodi who sponsored Jack. It's great having both new members join our club, especially on installation night!
Next week the speaker will be Tim Weaver on "Haunted Tours of Macomb" and on October 28 Sue Melton of The Diamond Den will be featured.
Tim Moss presided.
John Moon led us in singing "I'd Rather Belong To Kiwanis"
Chuck Nicholson gave the invocation.
Special guests included Tim's wife Alice.
Peanut Days will be the weekends of October 24-25 and October 31-November 1 at both Hy Vee and Wal Mart between the hours of 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM Tim said sign up sheets will be passed around next week.
Tim reminded members we will be updating our club bylaws and he hopes to vote on the changes by the end of the month.
Tim urges members to be sure to check the new club member directory so we have current names, addresses and phone numbers for everyone. Hassan asked that members finish signing up to be monthly program chairman so that can be included in the new member roster.
Tim - happy to salute Jeremy, Jane Morrow and Wayne Mounts who
helped set up the tables, table cloths and get ready for our installation meeting.
Jeremy - happy to welcome all the guests.
Wayne Mounts - happy to be back from a trip to Southern Indiana.
Pat - happy to have done some traveling to Wisconsin and then had a joke
about Wal Mart ordering all the Cubs items off the shelves due to a
"choking hazard." Ouch!
Jay Carter - happy to be back from a trip to the Grand Canyon and
shared a California blond joke.
